The backlog challenge just doesn't seem to be enough at the moment and I have decided to set myself another gaming challenge to run alongside it for the rest of the year and most definitely into 2026 too. This new challenge is definitely going be taking me back to my childhood and is probably going to cost me a fortune too...
Lately I have fallen back in love with Pokemon massively so much so that I have started collecting the cards again (slowly but the collection is building little by little), I have even started buying figures and let's not get started on the plush collection which seems to be added to every other month. The collection just keeps on getting bigger and bigger but at the same time I really want to go back to where it all started, my love for Pokemon began by playing the games and that is why my new challenge is going to be...
COMPLETE ALL THE POKEMON GAMES I CAN GET MY HANDS ON...
So to begin with the plan is going to be to fully play through all the games I already own which to be honest is more than I expected when I have looked through the game shelves. But alongside this I am going to be having a bit of fun by buying the games I have missing which could be a bit difficult but I am hopeful that if I make a list of games needed I can lowly work through and tick these off and add them to the collection, this includes Mystery Dungeon & Detective Pikachu games and to be honest any game that has been released under the Pokemon franchise, this is where I know things are going to end up getting expensive as some of the games I am missing are not cheap at all.
I am really hoping that throughout the rest of 2025 I can get through all the Pokemon games I already own however, if I do see a game I need I will be looking at picking it straight up ready to add into the rotation to play in. Even if I do only manage to get through those games already in my backlog though I will be happy because as I say I do own a fair few Pokemon games already, from the 3DS and Switch and possibly even the DS if I can find where I hid all those games.
To document the challenge I will be posting a monthly update post on here saying what I have played or picked up and maybe a few other Pokemon related bits within those update posts however, I will be posting a lot more content around the challenge over on our Instagram. This might be feed posts of where I am up to on the game, game shopping or even just little stories checking in on how I am getting on.
There is going to be so much Pokemon content coming over the course of the year and into the future as the love for the franchise really is back. For now though let's see what we can work through in terms of the Pokemon games I already own, hopefully the first one I decided to play won't take too long to complete.
With this challenge and the backlog challenge both taking place now the time at home is hopefully going to be increasing so that I can start getting some of these games completed at long last.
See you soon,
TNG Games
