Games I would love to receive this Christmas...

Christmas is the one time that I forget the backlog challenge and either treat myself to a few new games or ask Liam for some as my Christmas gift, it seems to have become a bit of a tradition that for Christmas we get each other at least one new game sometimes even more depending on the cost of the ones we want and if there has actually been releases during the year we are interested in. To be honest as I have mentioned 2022 hasn't really gone to plan in terms of gaming, either due to a lack of time to game or due to not been in the right headspace however, I am determined to change that in 2023 and as the end of 2022 approaches I am actually making more time to game and just switch off rather than working 24/7 like I have been doing. To be honest the backlog hasn't looked too inspiring for me to get back into gaming I know I will get around to the backlog games soon but I could just do with something new to sink my teeth into and try get that gaming bug back. Thanks to the backlog challenge ban I haven't actually bought any new releases for a long time but this Christmas time that is going to change and here are the games that have made it onto my Christmas 2022 game wish list...

Life is Strange : Arcadia Bay Collection

If you have read the blog for a while you will know I absolutely love the Life is Strange games and have played them all apart from Life is Strange 2, I haven't played any of them on the Switch though and to be honest I think I need to relive these games once more. The fact that I could play these games from absolutely anywhere really appeals to me and I know I would get through these games with no problem and it would most definitely help me get into the swing of gaming again as I would 100% make time to play through this.

House Flipper

Now this game I would never usually be interested in as it is definitely a different style of game than I am used to however, I have seen a lot of people mention it on YouTube and I have seen a fair bit of gameplay of it and it has peaked my interest. I have certainly looked into this game more than I usually would if I was tempted to get a game and to be honest if I can get a decent deal on this I will definitely be picking it up as a Christmas gift to myself, if I could get it for the PC that would be even better as it would mean I am going to be playing the PC a lot more which may or may not be a goal for next year, but more on that another day.

Saints Row

As soon as this game was announced I knew I wanted to pick up a copy to playthrough however, due to a mix of the backlog challenge and lack of gaming I haven't been able to justify the purchase. As I am trying to get back into gaming though I think that this could be one of the games that helps me pick up the controller a lot more often and get me back consistently gaming. I haven't played many Saints Row games in the past but what I have played has impressed me so fingers crossed this game makes an appearance in my game collection this festive season as I could see myself getting lost in this game.

Ratchet & Clank : Rift Apart

This is another game that I have wanted since its initial release but I just couldn't justify the price. I have never played a Ratchet & Clank game so I didn't want to pay full price for a game I might not be 100% sold on especially with the cost of games been so high these days. This has since dropped in price a bit though and I still find myself gravitating towards picking up a copy so it has found its way onto this years Christmas list, who knows maybe I will finally get to play it at the start of 2023 rather than keeping on delaying playing it.

Lego Star Wars : The Skywalker Saga

This is another game that has been on the wish list for a long time, I just haven't got around to picking up a copy yet due to the backlog challenge ban. I definitely want to treat myself to this game though as I have delayed playing it for so long and to be honest I could see it being a fun game for me and Liam to sit and play together, something we don't do too often. I love Lego games and I love Star Wars so this game should be perfect for me.

Sonic Frontiers

I have always loved Sonic however, in recent years I haven't managed to play any Sonic games, Frontiers though is a game I really want to play and to be honest I am hoping if all goes to plan it will be one of the first games I play in 2023. Now I know this has had pretty mixed reviews however, I have also heard it is a game you need to make your own mind up on and that is definitely what I am planning on doing. This has already dropped in price too so again would be a nice little treat to myself this festive period.

New Tales from the Borderlands

The first Tales from the Borderlands game is the only Borderlands game I have played and to be honest even though I didn't know what to expect I found myself hooked on the game and I loved every second I played of it. I am really hoping to have a copy of the New Tales from the Borderlands game to play through in 2023 so I can see if it lives up to what I have previously played or not, I can also see it been a great game for me to get back into gaming with.

Gotham Knights

Now this game is another that has had very mixed reviews however, I want to make my own mind up about it. This has already really dropped in price and I am so glad as it means I am more likely to get it this festive period. There was no way I was going to be paying full price for this game with the mixed reviews I had seen so I have to admit it has been great to see a big drop. I am seriously considering treating myself to this game this festive period as it could create a good start to 2023 gaming wise for me.

Sackboy A Big Adventure

This game was one I was always planning on getting as soon as it was released however, I just never got around to grabbing a copy for some reason. I honestly think the main reason I haven't picked this up is because of how expensive it has always been when I have looked at it but I think this festive period I am just going to bite the bullet and purchase a copy of this game. I am really hoping it is a game that me and Liam can sit and play together but I guess only time will tell.

Mario Stirkers Battle League Football

I absolutely loved playing Mario Strikers on the Wii back in the day and as I have got older my love for both Mario and Football has grown so I am sure I would love the latest installment on the Switch even more. I can easily see me playing on the Switch a whole lot more if I got this game and to be honest I can see myself getting lost in this game and it becoming one of my most played.

So there you have it those are the games that have made it onto my wish list this Christmas. I am determined to have a much better year gaming wise next year so fingers crossed in 2023 I will be playing some of the games off this list. The backlog challenge is great but at the same time I am really missing out on new releases but I am definitely going to be changing that.

Whats on your Christmas wish list game wise?
