I mentioned in my goals post I am saving up for a new gaming PC however, that isn't the only thing I am saving for in 2025. I am really wanting to level up my social media content over the course of the year whilst also building a brand TNG Media. I could do with making some upgrades in terms of tech though to really maximize the quality of content and productivity. So here are some of the items I am saving up to purchase in 2025...
iPad & Apple Pencil
I want to get back into creating graphics for products for TNG Media to release and at the moment I don't really have the equipment to do so. The plan is to make an iPad & Apple pencil one of my first purchase of the year so I can get on with designing items but we shall see how that plays out. This would certainly be a big benefit for growing TNG Media though so I need to get looking at what I can get and what is going to be the best going forward.
Hard drive
With what I am creating I could do with a separate storage space where everything is backed up all in one place so it is easy to find things if required. 2025 is definitely going to be the year when I get organised and having a separate hard drive with TNG Media content is definitely going to help with that.
Memory Cards
I am really wanting to make life easier for myself so I am saving up to get some good quality memory cards going forward so I can have one for each site and then any for potential TNG Media work if we get into content creating for others at any point in 2025. Having separate cards for each thing will again just keep everything in one space rather than me having to search for what I need instead of getting on with things.
Book binding kit
This is another bit of tech that I want for TNG Media and another piece I am going to need to do a lot of research on. I am planning on releasing some notebook/journal items in 2025 for TNG Media to sell and the cost of outsourcing the work to begin with just isn't appealing to me so I am hoping to get my own book binding kit to be able to create them in house instead. I am hoping that I can find a pretty inexpensive one of these quite early on in the year so I can get releasing the products early on. Keep your eye out too as one item may be a gaming one.
Card reader
If I capture something on my camera I want to be able to transfer it to my phone ASAP to upload to social media as sometimes I end up forgetting about the content and it never gets posted. A card reader is a relatively low cost so the plan is to put a bit to one side and get one that fits my phone ASAP so that for things like my football content I can post to social media in real time.
Lighting
The lighting in our house is terrible and my little ring light doesn't cut it half of the time so the plan again is to save up and research some space saving and cost effective lighting to bring into the home office. There are plenty of options out there it is just going to be finding what works best for the small area I have at home.
Canon G7X Mark II
This camera has been on my wish list for a very long time now and I think 2025 is finally going to be the year I finally pick it up. This is something I am putting money to one side for already and I am hoping I can pick one up sooner rather than later as it can really help with content. This is something I really want for social media purposes, mainly for creating reels as I think it is going to really help me improve my reels going forward.
Dji Osmo Pocket 3
I have been totally influenced by this from social media but the plan in 2025 is to pick up a Dji Osmo Pocket 3. After much deliberating I think this could be great for fitness and football content especially football boot reviews. Factoring in just how many pieces of content within these areas I want to create in 2025 I believe I could really get my monies worth out of this purchase.
So there you go those are the tech items I am hoping to save up for in 2025, even getting half of these would be brilliant so let's see what purchases we make throughout the year aka the year of upgrades.
