If you follow me on any of my other social media accounts you will know that a big thing I am focusing on in 2025 is my fitness and wellness journey. This got me thinking about bits of tech I could add into my life to help me along with this journey.
I have some pretty big goals for 2025 in this aspect of my life and to be honest it is where a lot of my time is going to be spent as I will be throwing myself into workouts in the home gym, boxing classes and my football which also means I need to work on the recovery to make sure that I am not pushing myself too hard and not listening to my body which is where I think the tech is going to come in handy. So here are some of the health related tech items I have had my eye on and am planning on researching further with the possibility of making a purchase but I guess only time will tell if that happens or not.
Withings Body Smart Wifi Scale
My current scales are on their way out as I have had them too long now and are just your standard weight watchers ones. These body smart scales would definitely give me more of an insight into the stats I really want to track as they do BMI, BMR, Body Fat and body water & muscle mass so I can get a rough idea of what is working for me and if any adjustments to the diet and training need to be made. These are more on the reasonable side of pricing too so who knows they might be purchased sooner rather than later.
Oura Ring
I keep finding myself checking out the Oura ring and have watched countless videos on them on YouTube. These rings are on the pricier side of things though. The ring tracks your goals and movement and you can share these with your community circles. It also tracks your stress and helps you out with finding that healthy balance whilst tracking your sleeping patterns too. With the ring being over £300 though and a yearly membership being £69.99 I think this is going to be out of my price range for a while and maybe it might not be so practical for football and boxing.
Whoop band
The Whoop band is another subscription item however, it is a bit cheaper than the Oura ring. What I love most about the Whoop is that there is no screen so no distraction, plus you don't have to tap to track activity as the band automatically detects. You can set goals with the band too with it giving you recommendations for the week to achieve it which I think is great. Whilst other trackers focus on activity the Whoop focuses more on recovery which I think could be hugely beneficial for me as recovery is going to be key for me to hit my goals.
Garmin Forerunner
I think my time with the Apple watch might be coming to an end as my Series 3 just isn't as accurate anymore. After looking around I seem to keep going back to the Garmin Forerunner because it is reasonably priced and seems to be a go to for runners, something I am doing a whole lot more in 2025. A new watch is definitely cards so a lot of research is going to be taking place and who knows we may have an unboxing coming some day soon and a review on if it works well for me or not.
Sauna Pod
Granted this is a dream product and space may not allow us to get one of these in the long run however, I am loving researching the benefits of contrast therapy. Currently I have an ice bath and this has been a go to after football training and games. Now with my training sessions increasing recovery is key so a sauna pod would be a perfect addition as I could do the routine of hot, cold, hot therapy. This will just help the muscle recovery progress and mean I can head into the next intense session a little sooner than if I just went home and sat on the sofa.
Pulsio boots
Compression boots are big in the professional football game to help players recover quicker and with the issues I have with my knee I feel as though a set of these boots could help me minimize injury and be able to keep pushing on with my journey. Again though these are pretty expensive so may just be a wish list item for a very long time but we shall see.
There you have it those are the tech items I have been looking into to see if they would help me on my journey or not. Keep an eye on here and social media to see if I end up picking up any of these items or not going forward.
See you soon
