Star Wars Battlefront II Campaign 1st Impressions

I was lucky enough to be sent a copy of Star Wars Battlefront 2 a while back but unfortunately with the move etc I had to put it on the back burner for a little while. But I have finally had the chance to sit down and get into the game a little and here is what I have taken from the game so far. I went into the game without any knowledge of what I was getting myself into, the 1st game is actually still sat in its plastic wrapping. There was a lot of controversy around this game when it was initially released and in its build up but I stayed away from it all as I wanted to make sure that if I did play it I wasn't influenced by what others had said and I wanted to give it a go for myself.

Throughout playing so far I have noticed that at certain times the sensitivity has randomly upped itself whilst I have been running around, which I have found a nightmare. It seems to be as soon as I come across enemies that this occurs. When I go into the settings it is always at the sensitivity I left it at so I end up turning the console off to fix the issue, which to be honest is getting pretty annoying.
One thing about me is I don't like being the good guy in games and I actually have a Darth Vader lightsaber tattoo as I like the dark side that much. So as soon as you start the campaign and your are the bad guy, that instantly makes the game better for me. I would much rather be on the dark side no matter what I play.

Another thing I liked about the game is how easy the controls where to get to grips with. I am sure I have short term memory loss when it comes to games and controls, I can happily be playing something and instantly forget what I need to press to get me through a certain part. The only problem I have had with controls other than the sensitivity issue is when it comes to the tie fighters, I hate them. Me and flying in games just don't mix so I end up giving the controller to Liam to get me through those parts. I just wish they were easier to fly.

I honestly didn't expect the graphics to be as good and as sharp as they were. I still only have my day one Xbox one so I don't have the 4K availability but the game still looked fantastic. I never used to be bothered about the graphics of a game but lately they are just getting better and better which is really adding to my experience.

Cut scenes are still one thing I am trying to have more patience with, some games I can't do with them and will constantly skip them however, with this one I am loving them I aren't finding them too long and boring and I can actually sit through them with ease, they are actually a really nice break from the game from time to time. I just wish I enjoyed them in other games as much.

To me the big thing about the game overall is the addition of the campaign mode. The more I think about it the more I realise the reason the first game is still in the packaging is because of its lack of campaign.  I would rather sit and play a campaign than play multiplayer any day as I aren't too keen on playing with others.

Overall so far I am really impressed with the game, I aren't loosing patience with it and I can sit playing it for quite a bit at a time without wanting to switch up what I am playing. I can see me playing this for a while and eventually giving the multiplayer a go. I am glad I stayed away from the controversy around the game and decided to give it a go myself because it really has surprised me. As someone who loves anything Star Wars I haven't been let down.

So there you have it thats what I think about the Battlefront II campaign so far what are your thoughts on it? Let me know either in the comments or on any social media listed below.
